QUINTUM AND ANYUSER.NET PARTNER TO PROVIDE FLAT-RATE INTERNATIONAL PHONE SERVICE
Tenor™ MultiPath Switch Users Can Leverage Innovative “CyberTelco™” to Complement Enterprise VoIP Implementations with Free Worldwide IP-Based Calls
EATONTOWN, NJ, March 26, 2002
Leading VoIP solutions innovator Quintum Technologies Inc. today announced a technology and marketing agreement with global voice-over-IP service provider Anyuser.net Co., Ltd. to deliver high-reliability IP-based telephone services to corporate customers worldwide. The agreement enables users of Quintum’s acclaimed Tenor MultiPath switches to take advantage of Anyuser.net’s award-winning flat-rate Internet phone services as part of their corporate VoIP implementations – significantly reducing their telecom costs without compromising their voice service levels.
Under the terms of the agreement, Anyuser.net is also using Quintum MultiPath switches throughout its network as its preferred customer premises equipment (CPE) and for local points-of-presence (POPs). The company plans on deploying approximately 2000 Tenor switches worldwide.
According to Anyuser.net General Manager Simon Kim, Quintum’s Tenor switch is the ideal CPE for users of his company’s services because of its instant PSTN failover feature and its ease of installation. “The Tenor switch provides customers with a very high level of comfort and convenience, which is important as they make the move to IP-based telephony,” said Kim. “We look forward to a successful long-term relationship with Quintum as we work together to aggressively expand the global corporate IP telephony market.”
Anyuser.net can terminate calls in more than 240 countries and can handle more than a million minutes on its advanced IP telephony network. The company offers a full suite of services for consumers and businesses looking to implement IP telephony, as well as channel partners and telcos seeking structured, turnkey IP telephony solutions and “IP Centrex” capabilities. Anyuser.net provides full H.323-compliant gatekeeper/softswitch services, online IP number registration, translation/routing services, print and online billing, yellow pages and other IP-related voice and data services.
The ability to rapidly activate Anyuser.net services will provide Quintum customers with fast access to substantial savings on international calls. “Customers are already experiencing healthy ROI on their enterprise VoIP implementations using our Tenor architecture, said Chuck Rutledge, Vice President of Marketing for Quintum. “The addition of flat-rate international calling to these deployments via Anyuser.net will further boost that ROI without imposing any additional hassle or risk.”
Quintum’s Tenor VoIP MultiPath Switch ensures the quality of voice services by monitoring the quality of IP traffic and transparently switching calls to the public switched telephone network (PSTN) in the event that those calls are threatened by packet loss, jitter or latency. Quintum has developed other unique technologies for its Tenor switches – including NATAccess™, which allows companies to keep their VoIP gateways behind NATs and NAT-enabled firewalls, and PacketSaver™ multiplexing, which utilizes compression technology to reduce both bandwidth requirements and congestion in VoIP networks.
The integrated Quintum/Anyuser.net solution has been fully field-tested and is available immediately. Quintum customers who want to activate Anyuser.net services must be running Tenor switch firmware Release 4.2 or later.
