Providing a Survivable Branch Office Telephony Solution
Banks, retailers, government agencies, educational institutions, or any company with branch offices, needs a complete, cost effective and survivable
telephony services solution that simplifies management of a single IP-PBX in the main office.
The Tenor VoIP MultiPath Switch from Quintum Technologies, an Innovator-level member in the Avaya DeveloperConnection program, helps maintain connectivity
between offices, providing redundant and survivability telephony services. With the Tenor switch, Avaya can offer enterprise customers a complete SIP-based
IP PBX solution that includes robust and survivable telephony service for branch and remote offices.
Avaya and Quintum Offer the Following Capabilities:
- Communication Manager - Integrates telephony call processing, call
control, messaging, contact center and a widely accepted application programming interface into a highly scalable architecture designed to support both
circuit-based and IP-based telephony within a distributed enterprise communications network
- SIP Enablement Services (SES) - Creates a communication services layer
within the Avaya Communications Architecture that mediates between Avaya MultiVantage™ applications and a wide range of standards-based user agents,
web-based applications and communication devices
Survivable Tenor Offers IP Telephony Users Several Significant Advantages:
- Analog Device Support - Tenor provides VoIP integration of legacy
analog and modem-based devices. The Tenor will support connectivity to analog phones, fax machines, elevator phones, PA systems etc, and modem=based
devices including postage meters and alarms.
- Telephone Network Connectivity and Emergency Services Support - Through
its MultiPath Technology, Tenor provides local PSTN connectivity for emergency services, as well as support for local inbound and outbound phone services.
- IP Phone and IP Endpoint Survivability - If the connection to the Avaya
Communication Manager/SES should fail, the Tenor VoIP MultiPath switch provides survivability support of the IP telephony network. The Quintum Tenor
monitors and manages the connectivity between Avaya IP phones and Avaya Communication Manager/SES and provides the phones with redundant and survivable
telephony services. Tenor, in its survivable mode, will provide basic telephony services to keep the branch office productive despite loss of direct
service from the Communication Manager/SES. The Tenor will not only provide survivability for the IP phones, but will also continue to support call
routing over the VoIP network, including:
- IP phone to IP phone
- IP phone to analog phone
- IP phone or analog device to the PSTN
- One branch office to another branch office
Compared to traditional VoIP gateways, the Survivable Tenor VoIP MultiPath Switches
offer these benefits:
- MultiPath architecture for transparent deployment
- MultiPath switching for intelligent call routing
- PacketSaver for efficient bandwidth utilization
- Universal Dial Plan for easy integration into any network.
