Description: Command used to set or change the IP address that is configured for this Tenor. When the Tenor is shipped, a default IP address is set at the Quintum factory for testing, to change this IP address initially, you will need to connect to the Tenor via a serial cable as described in Section 3 of this manual. When you change the IP address of the Tenor, not only must you submit the changes, but you will also need to reset the Tenor before the new IP address takes effect. This is done to protect you and your IP network. If you ever reset the Tenor to factory default, the IP address, subnet mask and default gateway will not be erased, so you will be able to talk to the Tenor over your IP network.
DHCP: As of Software Version P4-1-9, it is possible to enable the Tenor to accept an IP address from a DHCP Server. This is only configurable at boot up from the console port. For important details on this process, see ip - dhcp.
