Description: Used to setup overlap dialing in CAS signaled lines. Overlap dial provides for a longer time-out period between digits, also called the inter-digit timer. With overlap dial set to no, the Tenor expects to receive the digits one right after the other coming in to this trunk group with very little delay between digits. With overlap dial set to yes, then the Tenor waits up to about 25 seconds between digits. This feature only applies to CAS (non-ISDN) configured lines. Overlap dialing is always supported on CCS (ISDN) lines and this feature will have no effect on a CCS line. For the purposes of this section, the prompt will be shown as config pstntg 1# or config pbxtg 1#.
Cmd Type: command.
Prompt Level: config pstntg 1# and config pbxtg 1#
Syntax: overlapdial or over {0 | 1}
Arguments:
0 No. Overlap dialing is disabled.
1 Yes. Overlap dialing is enabled.
Default: 0 - No
Availability: All releases of Digital Tenor units. Not available on Analog Tenors.
Guidelines: Making a practice of enabling this feature for all CAS signaled trunk groups and analog trunk groups will not cause any severe problems. The only down-side to having this on when not needed is that there may be an increase in time for call connection as the Tenor is waiting for the inter-digit timer to time-out before attempting to route the call.
Examples:
config pstntg 1# overlapdial 1
Enables overlap dialing on the first PSTN trunk group.
config pbxtg 1# overlapdial 1
Enables overlap dialing on the first PBX trunk group.
