r2sigbits

Description:   R2 Signaling Bits. Used to specify the setting of the C & D bits when Tenor transmits line signals and whether any of the ABCD bits are inverted. R2 only uses the A & B bits, but the C & D bits are still transmitted. The C & D bits of received line signals are ignored by the Tenor.

Cmd Type:   command.

Prompt Level:   config pstntg 1# and config pbxtg 1#

Syntax:   r2sigbits or r2sig {cd-bits} {invert-bits}

Arguments:

cd-bits   Numeric value that indicates the binary setting of the C & D bits. Valid entries are:
0 - 3 (0000 - 0011) - the value you type in is converted into a binary number.
0 = 0000
1 = 0001
2 = 0010
3 = 0011

invert-bits   Numeric value that indicates the inversion setting of the A, B, C & D bits. Valid entries are:
0 - 15 (0000 - 1111) - the value you type in is converted into a binary number.
0 = 0000
1 = 0001
2 = 0010
3 = 0011
4 = 0100
5 = 0101
6 = 0110
7 = 0111
8 = 1000
9 = 1001
10 = 1010
11 = 1011
12= 1100
3 = 1101
14 = 1110
15 = 1111

Default:   Typical CD-bits settings: 3 - 0011 for China. 1 - 0001 for most other countries.

Availability:   Only if ccsorcas is set to CAS (1), the line is an E1 and cassig is set to R2 (4). Software release 2 or higher (p2-x-x) on Digital Tenors only. Not available on Analog Tenors.

Guidelines:   Some countries use the C & D bits differently. China requires a 3 (0011) while must other countries use a 1 (0001). Check with your PSTN provider for the correct setting.

Examples:

config pstntg 1# r2sigbits 3 0

Sets the C bit to 1 and the D bit to 1 (0011), no bit inversion (0000).

config pbxtg 1# r2sigbits 1 5

Sets the C bit to 0 and the D bit to 1 (0001), and bit inversion to 0101.
