How to Send Back a Unit for Return/Repair

What is an RMA?

A Return Material Authorization (RMA) is required from Quintum in order for you to return a unit. Quintum will provide you with an RMA number and shipping instructions. The RMA number must be prominently displayed on the shipping container and referenced on all correspondence pertaining to the returned product.

Before attempting to obtain an RMA number, you must first speak to Quintum TAC (Technical Assistance Center) for authorization. Contact Quintum TAC as follows:

If you've already spoken to Quintum TAC about the problem you are experiencing, and they have authorized you to send the unit back for warranty replacement, you are ready to request an RMA number.

To obtain an RMA number, you must send an email to service-ticket@quintum.com with the following information:

  • Serial Number. The serial number of the unit to be shipped back. The format of the Quintum serial number is A or B 000-000000 (either in numeric or alphanumeric). The serial number is located on either the rear or bottom of the unit.

  • Model Number. The model number of your unit. This is located on either the rear or bottom of the unit.

  • Exact problem of unit. The exact description of the problem (including the manufacturing test results, if possible) with the unit will help our technical support team repair the unit faster. If the unit does not boot up, we are unable to run a manufacturing test. Directions for our manufacturing test are on the Quintum web site.

  • Replacement request (if necessary). If you are requesting a replacement, indicate this in the original email. Our technical support team must authorize all replacements before an RMA is issued.

  • Ship-to Address. This is the address/company name where you would like to have the unit shipped after the unit has been repaired. An RMA will not be issued without the Ship-to Address.

  • Credit for Unit. If you are requesting a credit for the unit being returned, contact your sales representative for authorization before requesting the RMA.

Note: It is not necessary to return accessories, such as cables, when you send a unit back to Quintum.

If your unit is out of warranty, contact the sales representative for payment information regarding the repair. The repair will be completed only upon receipt of payment.
