UTCOffset |
Description |
SNTP Server Time Offset. This command makes a time adjustment from the named Time Server's time (almost always UTC/GMT) to the local time of this Tenor. |
Basic Configuration |
If you choose to enter a Time Server Configuration, you are prompted to enter the UTC Offset in hours and 15-minute units. |
Guidelines |
For example, if the Tenor is located in New York and the Time Server is synchronized to UTC, you would want to subtract 5 hours. The Tenor re-syncs with the Time Server every 8 hours under normal circumstances. If there is a discrepancy in the time, the Tenor will then sync up in 4 hours, then in 2 hours if there is a discrepancy again, and then once every hour, until the Tenor and the Time Server agree. At that point, the Tenor checks every 2 hours, every 4 hours until it gets back up to every 8 hours when the Tenor and the Time Server agree 3 times in a row. In addition, a re-sync occurs whenever the Tenor is reset. |
